One of the best muscle stimulators is exercise, and in my opinion Pilates is the best modality for really firing and feeling specific muscles and muscle groups. I have taught Pilates to people after spinal injuries and after a while of working with the equipment and the exercises have seen clients stand up from their wheelchairs. It’s a matter of focus and attention along with having a Pilates teacher who can pinpoint where you should be working.
